💵 Introduction

In the previous milestone, our group decided to focus on the business commerce space as it relates to side hustlers with businesses based on passion projects or hobbies.

Stakeholder mapping helped us narrow our scope and determine the different relationships and factors in play that can affect a side hustler’s operations. Exploratory user interviews with side hustlers informed the three concepts we proposed based on the insights drawn from pain points in their creative processes and business operations:

Our goal was to promote sustainable business practices so that side hustlers can maintain their passion projects amidst their busy schedules. After getting feedback from our peers and further analyzing input from our interviews, we knew to explore the organizational barriers that hinder the creative process. Side hustlers seemed to find the most value from Concept 2 but had a strong interest in Concept 1 and Concept 3. Our peers seemed to be most interested in Concept 2 but were confused about how Concept 1 and Concept 3 were unique and had some concerns with referring to our target population as “side hustlers”. We recognize the ethical concerns and address the need to dive deeper into how we might distinguish our product from existing competitors in this milestone.
